Asset Manager - Above Ground at Veolia Water North America, Chicago, IL

The leading provider of comprehensive water and wastewater services to municipal and industrial customers This position will lead the implementation of company established Above Ground Asset Management (AGAM) programs within the Central Region. Integrate Asset Management disciplines and/or best maintenance practices at sites as appropriate. Implement programs utilizing change management disciplines resulting in site specific ownership and continuous improvement programs.
 
The Asset Manager:
  • Reviews and reports on technology or equipment purchases under consideration at existing or new projects.
  • Provides technical support to projects for the implementation of AGAM related corporate initiatives related to maintenance and cost management, capital planning, asset reliability and risk management.
  • Coordinates requests and secures support for projects when not directly providing support.
  • Assists in defining, developing, validating and sharing of policy and SOPs on Maintenance and AGAM across the VWNA organization.
  • Facilitates continuous improvement process through SMP development
  • Assists in the development of AGAM training materials.
  • Conducts workshops to introduce and train project personnel and the Client on AGAM programming; methodology (i.e. Criticality Analysis, RCM, etc.) and tools (i.e. CMMS, CARMS, etc.).
  • Provides input into the strategic planning of AGAM initiatives in the Central Region for execution at the Projects; i.e.  developing KPI (Key Performance Indicators), Annual Business Plan
  • Secures from CMMS database maintenance documentation (WO history, equipment and task records) for use in RCA investigations and other required reporting around risk management, and works with Projects to comply with maintenance or AGAM related corrective actions.
  • Performs audit of CMMS databases, and AGAM work practices for conformance to VWNA Corporate Standards (i.e. Hierarchy Structure, Asset Types, equipment criticality, etc.) and adherence to Projects' contract requirements.
  • Leads new project start up efforts to help ensure proposal commitments are met. 
  • Performs facility reviews and identifies cost saving measures and develops corrective action plans. 
  • Provides technical support and research as requested by Veolia staff or clients.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to projects on an as needed basis for maintenance related concerns.
  • Performs new business due diligence and budget development.
  • Heavy travel, as much as 75% within the region.

  • At least 10 - 15 years of practical experience within a program management environment in the engineering, public utility management, consulting or construction industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the methods, techniques, principles, practices, and management of water/wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection systems
  • Knowledge of Facilities / Capital Equipment Management, QA/QC procedures, Safety, Scheduling and Planning procedures, Environmental and Process / Maintenance Management.
  • Highly desirable to have experience with maintenance management systems and processes as well as experience in maintenance of physical systems. Knowledge of CMMS systems, both Enterprise and locally located.
  • Knowledge of data and information management systems, information analysis, hydraulic modeling, asset criticality risk models, capacity, capital and financial planning, and capital program management. 
  • PC skills with knowledge of MS Access, word processing and the ability to optimize the use of technology and systems to communicate / streamline processes and increase efficiency.  Familiarity with maintenance, operation, and regulatory reporting, and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Highly desirable to have experience with maintenance management systems and processes as well as experience in maintenance of physical systems. Knowledge of CMMS systems, both Enterprise and locally located.
  • Ability to lead with an understanding of Human Resources / Relations principals.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Ability to coordinate problem resolution, resolve conflicting priorities and to meet assignment deadlines.
  • Ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and systems used in the Asset and Facilities Management Field applicable to Veolia Water applications.
  • Ability to develop, plan, implement, and manage programs to an on schedule completion and within budget. 
  • Ability to regionally network in the water utility management industry at the regulatory, planning/engineering, consulting, contractor, management and operational levels.
  • Ability for effective communication; presentations, written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate personnel, various levels of company management, the Client and Client representatives including but not limited to the Mayor, City Manager, City Council, General Manager, Senior Management Team, Supervisor, Manager, Consultants, and Utility Technician.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications, instructional presentations, and reports.
  • Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
