CONTROLLER - Law Firm at Tressler LLP, Chicago, IL

Tressler LLP is a full-service law firm comprised of more than 140 attorneys practicing in six offices across the country. We currently seek a detail-oriented and motivated Controller for our headquartered office located in the impressive Willis Towers in downtown Chicago.

 

Reporting to the CFO, this manager is responsible for daily operations of the Accounting, Billing and Collection Departments, directing the firm’s monthly financial statement preparation and coordinating the accounting/financial reporting requirements for branch office operations. Duties also include overseeing payroll, supervising staff, acting as liaison with outside accounting firms & banks and monitoring ACH transfers, account reconciliations, and analyses.

 

To qualify for this exceptional opportunity in our growing practice, you must possess:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

 

• 5+ years of progressive experience in a law firm or other professional service organization; at least 2 years in Controller function

 

• Proven success as a manager leading and mentoring department staff as well as effectively working within all levels of an organization

 

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/Access/Outlook and competence with automated general ledger software systems

 

• CPA preferred
