Director of Accounting:

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of consolidating and reporting financial performance as a public company to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other statutory authorities.
  • Manages a staff of finance professionals in developing the necessary financial reports to satisfy the Company’s internal and external reporting requirements, including annual reports, periodic and transactional SEC filings, governmental reporting, board reports, and earnings releases.
  • Oversees all aspects of data gathering, interpreting, processing, consolidating, and reporting financial results.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting, annual operating and strategic planning, quarterly forecasting for various global business functions.
  • Coordinate and assist with due diligence review of merger and acquisition projects, perform business, accounting and financial due diligence.
  • Acts as point person for external financial audits.
  • Stays abreast of changes in reporting requirements and interprets the effect on company.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. An MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  • 7 – 12 years total experience with 2-4 years in public accounting or external reporting.
  • Must have an good understanding of SEC requirements, GAAP, FASB, and accounting standards and pronouncements. Due diligence exp. a plus.
  • Must have experience managing and developing a staff of finance professionals.
  • Must be computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, corporate reporting software (such as Hyperion or TM1) and a working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must have ability to lead a team, and work independently in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
