Engagement Operations Analyst (Billing Specialist) at Huron Consulting Group, Chicago, IL
The Engagement Operations Analyst will report to the Operations Manager or Director of the practice and will interact with the Engagement Managing Directors and engagement staff in supporting the financial operations of the engagement(s). The Analyst will be responsible for the creation of client billings, follow up on outstanding receivables, internal job set up and maintenance, and distribution of internal financial and operational reports as necessary.
Job Details:
- Own the engagement billing process to ensure timely, accurate invoices are created and submitted to the client for prompt payment in agreement with the terms of the engagement letter
- Continual monitoring of outstanding receivables with escalation to the Managing Director and/or Client as needed
- Maintenance of opportunity tracking in InterAction, Huron’s CRM platform
- Collaborate with Managing Directors on improving client and project profitability
- Operational engagement review, planning and budgeting, expense review and revenue forecasting
- Provide timely reporting against actual results
- Review non-chargeable expenses and report variances against budget
- Maintain an up-to-date backlog analysis
- Bachelors Degree is required; Finance, Accounting, or Economics degree preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Exceptional computer skills; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to learn quickly, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience in a team environment.
- Experience in a consulting industry is preferred, or in a similar environment.
- Flexibility for possible overtime hours.
Additional/Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge with Microsoft PowerPoint, and Business Objects
- Experience in the consulting industry or professional services a plus
